A huge thank you to the University of Southampton’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the John Hansard Gallery for hosting last night’s Southern Creative Catalyst MEET. Thanks to the University, it wasn’t just drinks and chat either. We had canapés as well!
We held our first Southern Creative Catalyst event in Southampton in April 2024. We’ve now run more than 20 across the Central South, bringing together the businesses and freelancers who make up our extraordinary creative economy.
Our recent research with the University of Southampton, the RSA and the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre was clear on a lot of things. One of them stood out: universities and creative businesses both want stronger connections with each other.
So it was great to see 70 people from the University and the creative community in one room last night, meeting and building those connections.
And in what may be becoming a tradition, a few of us carried on at Pierogarnia afterwards. The beer was fabulous and so were the dumplings.
